I loaded on some mp3s and put them into the mp3 trimmer. When i go to apply them, they show up if I am trying to set them as ringers, but not when i set it to message notification. On that menu it doesnt show up in the drop down folder. Is there a place I can manually put them? and where does mp3 trimmer put the files it makes? I checked in the windows>rings, and it wasnt there.

Thanks

MP3's can be used as ringers, however Alerts, must be .wma so that's why they wont show up in the drop down list.  There are a couple of ways to getting your sounds as "alerts".  Check out the link below for one of the ways, it's lengthy but not so hard to do.  The other way is convert to a .wma after trimming it down, then running total commander to open up the "windows folder" so you can manually insert the new .wav file in there.

Or insert the .wav files as ringtones via ActiveSync into "Windows/Rings" and alerts into "Windows" ?

That post I had before was way in the beginning of learning this phone. I've learned a lot since then.

Alerts and stuff like that can be a variety of different file types, such as voice recordings from the voice recorder on the phone, which are .amr files.  You can put those files and others in the Mydevice>Application Data>Sounds folder...They will work in there.

As far as ring tones, I put them in the... My device>My Documents>My Ringtones folder.
