The easiest way is to just copy the MP3 file to:

My Device\Windows\Rings

The item will then be added to the ringtone drop-down list within Sounds & Notifications.

This applies to all Windows Mobile devices - not just the Touch Diamond.

I think you people are right to a certain extent, but it works best when put in My Documents. If you decide to put it in Windows\Rings, make sure it's WAV file not MP3 as it will not show up. This has nothing to do with the diamond and everything to do with WinMo.

Expand more on your question. Own ringtone for all message alert? Ringtones for individual contact's message? If you answer yes to first question. Do the following:

1. Place ringtones in My Documents.
2. Go to Settings>Personal>Sounds&Notifications>Notifications>New Text Message>Pick your sound and click ok.

Or just simply go to your file manager and klick+hold on the sound/tune/mp3 you would like as your ringtone and then choose "use as ringtone" and the phone will automatically copy that mp3 to the ringtones folder.

Use the Mp3 trimmer and pick the part of the song you want, and after you are done, one of the options is save to your ring tones folder and set it as your default ring, do that.  Doing it this way makes it a much smaller file.

start>settings>personal>sounds and notifications>notifications>use ring tone drop down box to choose your tune.
