MY DIAM500 is palm software???

I Got this Touch diamond (sprint version) of ebay it has the same look the touch flo 3d
and the whole 9 yards but i went to go activate it and they said that the phone has been unlocked and that when they plug it in to activate it, it picks it up, but its says palm software and that there is nothing they can do... (they said the operating system is not the one for the phone, the operating system is diffrent)
so what do i do
i want to see if i can download the original software on it..
but how
