I am switching from an Instinct and I was wondering if there is are emulators for NES, SNES, Gameboy, etc. that will work on the Diamond. I know this would be kinda hard, since there are no buttons, but are there any touch screen winmo versions?

Thanks

I hope so!  I have nes, snes, and playstation emulators on my iTouch, and have had them for my PC in the past.  I'm sure we'll have it soon.  Grin

The main issue in development will be to devise a way to put the controller into the touch screen and make it comfortable to play.

I'm thinking there was something I saw on a website about emulators for Win Mo...

edit: found it: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=38916&highlight=emulator

The problem they mention is the lack of multi-touch on the top screen.  This could defiantly slow Mario down a bit before that big jump (left/right + B for all you non-Nintendo weirdos).  Grin

I got Pokemon to run on the Diamond flawlessly. I used Pocket gnuboy.

Here is the site I got it from:

http://www.sunbug.net/products/view/PocketGBA-GameBoy-Advance-Emulator-for-PocketPC#download

Download the cab version, take the cab out of the download folder and install it on your phone. Enable the Virtual dpad in the controls section. Load up your game (gameboy or gameboy color). If you dont have any games, google i.e. pokemon crystal rom. You will find them easily, but remember, if you dont own the game, downloading the rom is illegal.

Have fun with this. I chose pokemon because it is a nice long rpg. it also doesnt require multiple touches at once like mario would.

Woops,
I just realized that one was actually for GBA. The one that I have is for Game boy color. Try this one and see if it works. I dont know if it has the virtual controller pad like the other one.

Sorry for any confusion

Here is the game boy color emulator that runs perfect, I haven't tried the Game boy advance

http://freewareppc.com/utilities/pocketgnuboy.shtml

then once downloaded, follow the instructions from the first post above.

I have tried it, but it keeps failing to install. I dont believe it is the diamond though because I tried it on my friends windows mobile phone and it failed there too.

I think there are those zelda seasons games for gbc. I really like Pokemon when I was younger, and still play it so I used one of those. I think it will run regular game boy games too. That means you could do all the pokemon, red, blue, yellow, gold, silver, gold, crystal. there is also game and watch gallerys that have mario. I dont know how that will go without multi touch.

tap the screen, then you will see two buttons on the bottom, tap the right one, then click the Virtual Keyboard Button

Try some of the later pokemon on gbc, like pokemon gold or crystal, they are awesome. also, try changing screen size to make it easier to see.

search for pocketnes and pocketsnes, there is also a pocketgba, but I cant seem to get any of them to work. The bummer with all the emulators is there is no multi touch, so when playing say, mario, you cant run and jump. Try games that dont need two inputs at once.

I found the Dpad option.. but it's not viewing it!
When I enable it, I can't see the Dpad. But then when I pause the game, and resume it, it shows up for.. about half a second, then it disseapears again

Also, when I adjust the screen size to a larger screen, and then readjust it to a smaller size, the border of the bigger size screen still runs on the background!

Any solutions?

Thanks a lot

the keypad disappears for me too, but after a while you get a feel for it, and mine also does the resize thing as well, i just always leave it on the highest resolution. if you prefer the smaller size, just pick that one and leave it. close the program amd reopen it and the settings should be saved, then you wont have the bigger screen around it like a border. hope that makes sense
