Emulator

Hi, I's sorry if this is a dumb question as I'm new to this site and only had my diamond about 2 weeks, but was is an emulator and how does it work?! A friend of mine who also has a diamond gave me a disk with loads of games on it and told me to download an emulator?! Can anyone shed any light?!

There is a gameboy color emulator, I use it to play Pokemon. You cant play games that require two button presses at the same time, ie Mario. The diamond can only pick up one button at a time, mario you need to run, jump, and point a direction all at once. Slower games like pokemon will work because they only require one button press at a time.
The emulator is attached to that thread. To get the games , known as "roms" you have to google roms. Try Pokemon gold roms. Remember, technically, it is not legal unless you own the game that you download
