Alltel Volume Control

I have had my phone for a couple weeks now, and all of sudden the Volume Up button doesn't work.  Its not that it doesn't do anything its just that it shows the volume control screen comes up and then it seems to no increase the volume.  It seems to think that its the Call Button Long hold action.  So anything that I put in for that task it changes to be the Volume up button. I had S2U2 installed and I thought it was that so I uninstalled it and it still does it.  It even does it when I have a custom rom installed.  So I'm not sure why it does it.  Any help would be greatly appriciated.  Although it seems to work fine if I use the S2U2 volume control.
