When my phone is hibernating and I get a call, the screen lights up, I tap the screen to unlock my info page, and it will not display who is calling.  It will only display the number after I miss the call.  I have the ring set to 5 rings because it was too short before to even answer a call.  If I'm on the internet or on a call, it will tell me the number that is trying to call but if it is hibernating it will not.

Setting a specific ringtone to everyone in my phone is the only way to determine who is calling when it is hibernating because it will play their specific ringtone.  But unknown numbers, I can never tell until the call is actually missed.

Does anyone have any idea how to fix this, because Sprint does not and neither does HTC support.

I'm extremely frustrated with my fancy phone that lacks caller id....and I have to turn off to reset (because it freezes) at least once a day.

Hi,
one thing I noticed: you write that you tap the screen after it lights up. You shouldn't have to tap it. The caller ID should just come on after the screen lights up. It sounds like when you tap, you put the phone application into the background and the info screen is called to the foreground.

If you didn't do anything after the screen lights up, does the caller id show?

If your phone is unstable and you have to soft reset it every day, maybe it's a good idea to back up your stuff and do a hard reset.

Also, check out S2u2 http://ac-s2.com/ as an alternative to the lock screen. This app includes a full screen caller id. In the settings you can chose to use it or the native caller id screen.
