ctlpnl.exe

Hi all,

My Diamond is 1 week old and when i try to change the ringtone to an mp3 it gives me an error and says that the file ctlpnl.exe has failed.

Any ideas ??

This does not happen if i select a "default tone"

Just out of curiosity, how big is the ringtone. I mean if it is a whole song, it might be too big of a file to use as a ring tone. As a test, try opening the MP3 in MP3 trimmer, then click on menu, and then Set as Default Ringtone, and see if that works.

Figured it out,

In an attempt to improve my video playing capabilities, i have donwloaded some video viewers and it seems like one of the defaulted as my default mp3 player and it was conflicting with WM.

Uninstalled the app and now its fine
