I have ordered a Sprint Diamond Touch 6850($200) but moving from Palm treo's . I was under the impression the touch pro(? $) was the phone to get until i walked into Best Buys and saw the Diamond touch unlocked ($700)\

What are the differences besides the cost? Sprint is shipping mines buy 11/3 . I can't afford the unlocked version but would like to know differences in each. What would you do, or have done in choosing your model??

Thanks Sad

Your looking at an unlocked unsubsidized GSM Diamond. 3G and EVDO are what the phones use for data.. 3G is GSM (i.e. ATT, Tmobile) and EVDO is CDMA (I.e. Sprint, Verizon, Alltel).

When you buy a phone from sprint at a discounted price, its subsidized, meaning that they are taking a huge discount to lock you into a 2yr agreement.

Best buy is selling an unlocked Diamond (Only works on GSM) for $700 because its w/ out any contract agreement. Its also unlocked so it can work on any GSM carrier.

I hope that helps Smiley

Well put snipes, to add a bit, sprint's version has better battery, little bit better spec and software update then gsm versions.

I LOVE the GSM diamond back though... sigh.

Your in luck!

I went to sprint store today to take care of a billing issue and picked up a brochure of pro and diamond. (1 brochure)

Basically you get full hard keyboard on pro where diamond just gives you the touch qwerty keyboard.
(If you have big monkey hands, sausage fingers or claws go with the pro. Wink  )

Pro also gives you a slot for microsd slot for expanded memory but no internal memory and 512mb of rom instead of 256mb. Diamond has a burgundy back while pro has a silver back.

That's about it. They use same touchflow 3d, winmo6.1 same

Oh wait!!!  IT's much FATTER then Diamond.
I like my diamond slim.... sexy... LOL.

Hope it helped buddy.
