I would like to branch off from this one. So if everyone can pitch it, I will add to the main post.

Installing Korean on your phone. (Windows Vista)

How this works,

1) Change the system font to Segoe UI.
2) Support the reading of Korean filenames using the Malgun font.
This should work similar to all the language support.

Copy segoeui.ttf, segoeuib.ttf, and malgun.ttf to the Windows folder of your Windows Mobile 6 device. These files can be found in the Windows\Fonts directory of your Vista installation.

[Go to HKLM/Software/Microsoft/FontLink/SystemLink]

Add this by creating a new string value

[Value name] Segoe UI [value data] \windows\malgun.ttf,Malgun Gothic
[Value name] Tahoma   [value data] \windows\malgun.ttf,Malgun Gothic

[HKLM/System/GDI]

create a new string value

[v.name] FontLinkMethods  [v.data]1

[HKLM/System/GDI/SYSFNT]
(this one already exists so just edit it) Nm = Segoe UI

[HKLM/System/GDI/V1FontAlias]

[v.name]Tahoma  [v.data]Segoe UI

Both of you guys,

get a registry editor. It's listed under games and apps list in this forum.

go to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER

then

MUI

then

CurLang

change the value of the number to your country's number.

soft reset.

Good luck

I'm sure English will be on the phone, especially considering Hong Kong used to be a British colony.  English is widely spoken there.  Now it may not be the default language when you recieve the phone.  You can change your regional settings by clicking start>settings>system tab>regional settings and then select your language from the list.

It wont change the whole Windows language when you change these settings... I think that my French diamond will be available only in English in the TouchFlo 3D using the application made to change it. I checked everywhere else on the phone to change it and I think it's impossible.

Hi, I hope I am asking this question in a right place - if not I apologize - I searched for an answer everywhere and so far found no answer.

I have AT&T FUZE and it has Multilanguage keyboard which includes English, German, French, Italian, Spanish - great, but I need Cyrillic (Russian) for SMS and E-mails. Is there a way to add a Russian language option?
If possible, I wanted to avoid adding more keyboards, my preference would be to modify the OEM.
I got a trial version of Cliquick keyboard, which has a great layout and intuitive typing - it also comes with 100 languages - I installed English as Primary and Russian as secondary - it works, but I lost predictive input functionality.

In general, I would like to add a Russian Option to the existing keyboard. SInce te standard FUZE comes with several language options already, I would assume that it should be possible to add one more (or replace one of the installed languages with Russian)

I also have a MAX 4G - a Russian version of 4G phone, which is a great phone, but has limited use in US (no 3G). This phone has a keyboard that switches from English to Cyrillic.

I hope I can get some leads on how to lift the necessary files out of MAX 4G and port to FUZE (note that MAX 4G is higher resolution WVGA compared to VGA on FUZE, so that may present a problem.

I searched the FUZE directories for files that would give me a clue that they are Spanish or French for the OEM keyboard, but could not find anything that would give me a hint.

I really hope to get help here. If anyone knows how to mod the FUZE original KB to add Russian option- that would be great!!!

Thanks,

Vladimir
